A Burial at sea Ceremony in memory of Edward (Barney)Caughey was
conducted on the USS PAUL HAMILTON (DDG 60) stationed in Pearl Harbor.
The Memorial Ceremony took place on the ship's flight deck at 7a.m. on December 15, 2004, and in accordance with the Naval tradition; colors were displayed at half mast, the officers and crew were paraded in summer whites. The ship Executive Officer, Lieutenant Commander M. Jordan Harrison, U.S. Navy, was the commander of the ceremony. A seven-member rifle squad with Master at Arms First Class McLaughlin, U.S. Navy, fired three volleys in the rifle salute. A twenty-five man Honor Platoon was formed from the crew.
