A burial at sea with military honors for Mr. Joseph Burnice Baker, Jr. of Goldonna, LA will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe.
Mr. Baker was born July 22, 1947 in Springfield, MO and passed from this life on February 7, 2017 after a brief illness in Alexandria, LA at the age of 69. He served in the United States Navy and retired after 20 years of service.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph B. Baker, Sr. and Audie Mae Hodges Baker; and one granddaughter, Monika Canales.
Survivors include his wife, Laurie Tilley Baker; his four daughters, Chris Ann Baker, JoAnna Robinette, Danielle Weidensaul and Deann Hamilton; his grandchildren, Devin, Camron, Tristen, Colette, Yoni, Nelida, Samantha and Logan; four great-grandchildren, Ne-vea, Mika, Estacy and Emma; one brother, Quincy Dewitt Baker; also survived by a host of extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in his honor to our nation’s veterans.
